Stupid Criminal 1: Elkridge Man shows up late for bank robbery.
November 23rd, 2007 Categories: Stupid Criminals
This is my first of a series I plan on doing for fun. I will be staking out our local papers and news sources to find local crime stories featuring “Stupid Criminals.” Comments are welcomed!
An Elkridge man planned to rob the PNC Bank in Elkridge last week but he showed up too late! Bank employee’s witnessed the man attempt to open the front door only to realize the bank had just closed. A description was established, he was wearing his hood and mask, had his gun in his hand, and a backpack for the loot. And did I mention the security camera’s also recorded his every move?
The police were called but he got away….for now.
Mustering up enough courage to suppress his brain functions, the suspect went to the same bank a week later. Dressed in the exact same clothing as he was wearing the week before, and carrying the same backpack, the suspect immediately grabbed an employee and demanded money.
This time he didn’t show his gun, but he certainly frightened many people. Thankfully nobody was injured.
In a twist of fate, employees from a local Jiffy Lube business witnessed the die pack explode! A police officer was around the corner when the call was made and a pursuit began. After following the suspect back to his home in Elkridge, and losing a quick foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested. He faces charges of robbery, attempted armed robbery, second degree assault, and theft.
Attempting to rob a bank is dangerous and stupid!
