How to “sniff” out the best homes in Maryland
November 26th, 2007 Categories: Maryland First Time Home Buyer, Maryland Home Buyers, Relocating to Maryland
If you are moving to Maryland then this story is for you.
You may have a home to sell where you live now, and you are un-familiar with Maryland. There’s the pressure of the new job, and possibly how the move will effect your family. You want the best value for your home and you don’t want to regret your purchase. You live far away so you need help…
You need a Real Estate Agent (Guide)
Your agent should provide more than listings sent to you via email and market statistics derived from the local multiple list system. And although it’s nice that he is willing to drive you around and look at homes you picked out, there is more to consider when choosing an agent from Maryland.
Is your agent willing to do the “investigative” work to help you “sniff” out your perfect home?
Read on to here examples of creative ways I have helped folks buy homes in Maryland while moving from other states:

Stupid Criminal 1: Elkridge Man shows up late for bank robbery.
November 23rd, 2007 Categories: Stupid Criminals
This is my first of a series I plan on doing for fun. I will be staking out our local papers and news sources to find local crime stories featuring “Stupid Criminals.” Comments are welcomed!
An Elkridge man planned to rob the PNC Bank in Elkridge last week but he showed up too late! Bank employee’s witnessed the man attempt to open the front door only to realize the bank had just closed. A description was established, he was wearing his hood and mask, had his gun in his hand, and a backpack for the loot. And did I mention the security camera’s also recorded his every move?
The police were called but he got away….for now.

November 21st, 2007 Categories: Maryland Home Buyers, Maryland Home Sellers, Perspectives, Relocating to Maryland

I landed back home in Ellicott City today, thankful for the wonderful morning.
The weather was unusually warm, we were among friends, and we were on vacation.
This picture shows daybreak and our decoy’s set up .
Fly over to the next page for video, and my bird brained answer to the question: What does real estate and goose hunting have in common?

Crossing the Chesapeake Bay Today
November 20th, 2007 Categories: Perspectives
Folks, one of the greatest things about living in Maryland is that we are central to so much. We have Cities,Suburbs, and Farmland. There’s mountains, lakes, and rivers too. Don’t forget our Chesapeake Bay and our Atlantic Beaches. The fact is: Maryland is a great place to live!
Today I am lucky enough to visit our Eastern Shore to take part in a my annual goose hunt scheduled for tomorrow. My good friend Guy sets it up each year and I am proud to share a blind with him. Our guide will be Steve Goss. Lord of Illusions.

I hope I can bring some good pictures back as well as a Grande story. We struck out last year, thanks to Mother Nature. She’s the boss. There has been a change in plans this year and I think we may be hunting near the Wye River.
Regardless of how heavy our bags are tomorrow, I know I will catch a part of Maryland.

Real Estate survives the Special Session
November 20th, 2007 Categories: Maryland Real Estate News
Some good news here, the Special Session of the Maryland General Assembly failed in many of their attempts to further tax Marylanders when it came to the real estate industry.
Victory was claimed by the MANY folks who came out to oppose the outrageous taxes on the already battered real estate industry.
Everybody who emailed, called, faxed, wrote, and marched help save our local real estate market from further taxes. The real winners are the home buyers, tenants, landlords, investors, home sellers, contractors, lenders, Realtors, Home Inspectors…..I could keep going.
