Here comes the TAXES!
October 29th, 2007 Categories: Maryland Real Estate News

Well, our Governor, Martin O’Malley has succeeded in calling a special session of the Maryland General Assembly.
That’s right folks….Here come the TAXES!
Just so everyone knows what this is about here is a synopsis of what is planned:
-
- Increase in gas taxes!
- Increase in sales tax by 20%
- Apply the sales tax to many services not taxed currently including: MARYLAND REAL ESTATE SERVICES!
- Increase the income tax!
- Increase the car titling tax.
- Increase the cigarette tax by 100%
- Increase the corporate tax by 14, passes onto the consumer! That’s YOU!
- Create new commercial real estate taxes.
Who do you think is going to pay for these tax increases? What affect will these taxes have on Maryland Real Estate? Comments welcomed!
In the meantime, please contact your representatives to express your opinion on these tax increases. Act now, the first session starts 10/29/07!
Certainly if these tax increases are implemented our economy will suffer. The Maryland Real Estate Market will certainly feel the impact.
